Schemamonk Elisabeta Lazar of the Pasarea Monastery (1970–2014) was a great hermit and ascetic, known for her life of prayer and for the spiritual gifts she received from God, being considered a miracle worker.
Born on May 7, 1970 in the Moldova Sulița commune, Suceava County, Rodica Lazar entered the path of monastic life as a young woman. At just 15 years old, in 1985, she entered the community of the Pasarea Monastery, where she was tonsured into monasticism after three years, receiving the name Teodora.
In 2003, nun Teodora retired to Mount Giumalău, where she led a hermitic life, in solitude and harsh asceticism. In 2007, she received the great schism, becoming the Schemamonk Elisabeta. She passed to the Lord on June 6, 2014.
