Flying Phantom is a model of a Clyde built tug from 1981. The original was built at Ferguson's in Glasgow and worked her whole life on the river tugging large ships in and out of the port, including such famous ships as the QE2.

It is a nice model to make - relatively simple for anyone who hasn't tried 3D printing before or the modelling of RC boats,a and yet it is a scale model with all the detail that one would expect, making an extremely attractive model that gains loads of compliments pool side.

Not only that but it sails really well, steering in both forwards and reverse due to its Kort nozzle rudder. Despite the height of the fire platforms it is a very stable model that works well in windy conditions.

The fire fighting platforms add extra interest. Not only do they look good but instructions are given on how to make the fire monitors working in the model.

The model is at 1/48th scale making a model just 750mm long, but it could be scaled up or down to make a larger or smaller model depending on your preference.

Everything that you see in the pictures is modelled in the stl files..... and advice is given as to what motor and hardware is required to get the model on the water.

As always with my models, I am very ready to give help and advice through the messaging system on cgtrader, and am also prepared to rework parts if you want some adaption or change to the original model
