DESCRIPTION

Step back into naval history with this meticulously designed replica of Robert Fulton’s pioneering 1798 submarine, Nautilus, now fully optimized for 3D printing and RC conversion. Scaled to a commanding 650mm length, this project is delivered via 35 high-poly STL files and a full-color 3MF file. The main hull is structurally engineered into 6 robust pieces with a sturdy 3mm wall thickness and a completely hollow interior, offering ample space for builders to install their own internal layouts. Please note that RC electronics, servo brackets, mechanical linkages, and a water-tight cylinder (WTC) are not included in this digital pack. For seamless assembly and structural strength, all interconnected hull sections feature smart alignment flanges and lip-groove joints to keep parts locked perfectly in place while gluing. This model is packed with functional details: the middle hull sections separate cleanly so the upper deck can act as a massive access hatch; the forward conning tower hatch opens and closes; and the intricate rudder and diving planes are fully articulated. Additionally, the iconic collapsible mast rotates and folds flat into the deck groove. The kit also features a 3D printable sail (though hobbyists can easily scratch-build a fabric one), a historical tethered naval mine, a split two-piece display stand, and a customizable blank nameplate. To help you finish the display, a 2D printable decorated Nautilus word graphic is included in the pack to accent your stand or plaque.

3D printing settingsPrinting and assembling this historical vessel is a straightforward and rewarding process, removing the need for a complex instruction manual. Every file is uniquely named to correspond directly with the included exploded perspective views and product render schematics. The parts are optimized to print on any standard FDM or resin 3D printer with a 220x220mm bed, requiring minimal supports when oriented vertically. Thanks to the integrated alignment lips and generous internal clearance, putting the hull together is incredibly intuitive—making it an ideal weekend project for builders looking for a clean, hassle-free print that transitions beautifully into a customized functional RC submarine or a jaw-dropping static display piece. Note that the hull interior is empty and mechanical details and interior planning will be done by the builder.
