DESCRIPTION

This highly detailed 3D printable model is inspired by the real-world 80-32 class ocean tug, renowned for its powerful azimuth propulsion and compact strength. Designed as a professional-grade display piece, the model is composed of 80 separate STL files, which, with additional accessories, can result in over 100 parts in the final assembly. Measuring approximately 640 mm in length (1:50 scale), the model captures the distinctive lines and balanced proportions of these advanced offshore tugs. The hull is hollow with a 5–6 mm wall thickness, leaving enough space inside for creative adaptations or internal electronics.

Our Rotor Tug has now been significantly upgraded with a new generation of fully functional azimuth propeller pods, engineered for both high-detail display builds and ambitious RC conversions. These redesigned pods introduce true directional thrust capability, and the three main hull sections have been reworked internally to provide clean mounting points, improved alignment, and easier access for wiring or mechanical linkages. A full-color 3MF file is now also included, giving builders a clear, detailed visual guide to part placement, assembly order, and overall vessel layout. While this enhanced system is still experimental and not yet test-printed, it is offered as an exclusive added feature for builders seeking advanced realism and engineering potential. We are fully ready to support you with conversion ideas, reinforcement solutions, custom parts, or modifications to help you achieve the best results with your build.

While primarily designed as a display model, with some RC ingenuity, it has the potential to be converted into a fully functional RC boat. The model features three animated azimuth motor mounts, multiple deck accessories for customization, and fine details that reflect the craftsmanship of modern tug design. As with all our models, this project represents weeks of design and refinement, offering both a satisfying build experience and a striking finished piece for maritime enthusiasts and model collectors alike. This model is brand new and has not yet been printed, making early builders an important part of its refinement process. To encourage feedback and help improve future updates, it is currently offered at a special discounted price for a limited time. As with any freshly released design, there may be minor teething adjustments during assembly — some light sanding, fitting, or drilling might be needed to achieve the best result. We see this not as a flaw but as an opportunity for skilled builders to contribute their craftsmanship and insights. Good luck, and may your build sail smoothly!
