I have had a concrete version of railway ducting for a while but have been meaning to do a more modern version for a while. Found this commonly used version on the internet to copy https://www.cubis-systems.com/uk/products/cable-protection/cable-trough/railduct/
I have designed them to sit next to each other without the interlocking part, at scale this wouldn’t work and wouldn’t be seen. I have included a T Junction, Y Junction and 45 degree section. The straight sections can be printed as single units or 2, 5 and 10 together. The straight section is about 1000x455x300 in real life and at OO scale 13.1mm x 6mm x 4mm.
In real life this style of ducting is being used instead of the older concrete ducting as it is lighter and easier to install. It can also be used as a walkway.
These items have been designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale. For HO Gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale, For O Gauge UK print at 175%, 1/43.5 scale, For O Gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 scale, For N Gauge UK print at 51.5%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not test printed this in N gauge scale).
The examples in the pictures were printed on an AnyCubic Proton M3 3D resin printer. I recommend printing these on a 3D resin printer to get best print definition. As per normal with my designs there is a balance between accuracy and printability, hopefully not affecting the look of the model too much.
