DESCRIPTION

This STL set adds extra realism and fine details to existing H0 catenary lattice masts (metal masts from common manufacturers).

It consists of two highly detailed parts:

*Foundation Bolt Base *

  • A realistic bolt-and-plate foundation that attaches to the bottom of an existing mast, replicating the way the prototype is fixed into concrete footings.

Mast Switch Drive Box (DB 1959 Design)

  • A finely detailed switch actuator box used on Deutsche Bundesbahn overhead line masts from Epoch III to VI. The model features authentic hinges, locks, and signage, just like the original equipment.

Both parts are slightly overscaled to enhance visibility in H0 layouts and dioramas. This way, they capture the authentic railway character while ensuring strong visual impact, even at normal viewing distance. For those who prioritize true-to-scale dimensions over the visibility of fine details, the switch version in exact 1:87 scale is available. Depending on the printer used, not all details may remain clearly visible.

Painting Recommendation:

  • Base color: Reseda Green (RAL 6011) for mast and add-on parts.
  • Weathering: Apply a sepia wash into recesses to highlight depth, then add rust tones around bolts, hinges, and edges for an authentic aged look.
  • Finishing: Use lightened Reseda Green with drybrushing to simulate sun bleaching and to bring out the raised details.

Key Features:

  • Switch_Box_DB_1959_with_switch_rod_upscaled Scale: H0, with enlarged dimensions for improved visibility. Preview pictures are showing this version.
  • Switch_Box_DB_1959_with_switch_rod_lever_exact_1_87 Scale: H0, exact 1:87 for true-to-scale dimensions.
  • Switch_Box_DB_1959_with_switch_rod_lever_midsize Scale: H0, slightly enlarged to provide a compromise between scale accuracy and detail visibility.
  • Designed for SLA 3D printing.
  • Compatible with standard market metal lattice masts (mast itself not included).
  • Perfect upgrade to enhance realism in railway dioramas and layouts.

Important Note:This set does not include the mast itself – only the add-on parts for improved detail. The example images show a metal mast with painted and attached details – the mast itself is not part of this STL set. This is a digital product intended for adult model builders. No physical items are included. Scenery and background elements shown in the example images are not part of this model.

Hello everyone, The dimensions of the mast switch do not match the original. The entire mast switch is too large. It needs to be scaled to 51 percent. Furthermore, the switch rod connection is not at the top, but on the back.
