This is for adding a 140mm disc brake to bikes without them. Its original intent was for adding front brakes to small electric kids motorcycles for better stopping power.Designed for the Pocket Mod to use the MX650/RSF350 brake calipers or regular bike calipers with the appropriate adapter (without the cone washers).Of course you can use larger discs by using different adapters.
I am including instructions for uploading to SendCutSend for getting manufactured.
Dimensions:
- Thickness: 3mm
- Axle hole: 10mm
- Adjacent to axle hole: 4.2mm (M5 tap)
- Fork fastener holes: 1x 5.1mm (M5 clearance)
I dont recommend braking while going in reverse as you are relying on the threads or rivets to not pull out of potentially thin-walled steel tube. This is strongest in the direction of the normal braking forces. You can also skip bolting and riveting by welding if it is made from mild-steel
Models:
- .dxf of the mount for cutting and bending
- .stl of the mount for mock-up
- .stl of a version of the 160f/140r caliper adapter
- .stl of a couple spacers
