On real-life railways, certain rolling stock is connected by drawbars. These can be DMUs/EMUs and certain wagons paired together.

This item is designed as an accessory to join certain rolling stock or replace missing drawbar. I have designed this item in different lengths so you can optimize the distance between rolling stock where they are used. The design comes in the following lengths 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, 22m and 24mm, the distance is from the face of each NEM socket.

Due to the size and shape I would recommend you print these on a Resin Printer using a resin that is designed for this role. I have used AnyCubic ABS Like resin.

Please be aware that 3D printed couplings will not be as strong as injected molded couplings, with using these you will probably need spares on hand in case of any break. With the ABS-like resin I have had minimal failures but nothing is perfect.

The examples in the pictures were printed on an AnyCubic Proton M3 3D resin printer. As mentioned I used AnyCubic ABS Like Resin, I’m not an expert on what resin you should use.
