Been looking at doing a design like this for a while but waiting for a design I could replicate. On a recent visit to Basingstoke station, I spotted this design and thought it would be perfect to do a 3d model of model railways. Supports like this are used above narrow roads or country lanes.
The bridge support at Basingstoke station was about 8.5m long which I have used for this design, in OO scale it is about 112mm long.I have also included an even shorter version that is about 91mm long (6.2m in real life).
Please use photos to help fit your layout to gauge height in relation to the track.
These items have been designed at OO gauge, 1/76.2 scale. For HO Gauge print at 87%, 1/87 Scale,For O Gauge UK print at 175%, 1/43.5 scale,For O Gauge International print at 158%, 1/48 scale, for N Gauge UK print at 51.5%, 1/148 Scale, (Caution: I have not test printed this in N gauge scale).
The examples in the pictures were printed on an AnyCubic Proton M3 3D resin printer.I recommend printing these on a 3D resin printer to get the best print definition. As normal with my designs, there is a balance between accuracy and printability, hopefully not affecting the look of the model too much.
I use AnyCubic Water Washable Resin for most of my items but use AnyCubic ABS Like Resin for anything that needs to be stronger and tougher.
