This character is the sixth prototype of a personal project that I called Limited Edition (in reference to the art gallery founded by Mr. Elijah Price in the 2000 film Unbreakable): a set of exclusive monsters and creatures, made available for download by artists and collectors on the CGtrader platform.The personal saga of the custom Marauder statue began two years ago, in early 2024: the great Master, craftsman, and customizer Yondu Toys presented his incredible collectible of 'Evil Ellie' from The Evil Dead Rise. At the time, I commented on his post (I don't remember if it was on Facebook or Instagram) about how cool it would be to have a collectible of the final creature from the movie (which, I didn't even know, was called Marauder). Master Yondu very kindly replied to my comment that yes, but that, unfortunately, there weren't enough images of the creature to create a collectible. At that time, I was still having my first experiences with Z-Brush, and I could only dream (remotely) of creating such a being. Still, I gathered - over time - as many images of the creature as I could find. But it was the creation of the first part of the Limited Edition Project - the creatures from The Thing Pequel - that convinced me that I would be able to make it. Ultimately, the Marauder is simply a natural evolution of the Splitface concept. So, I began preliminary studies for the creation of the Marauder, basing myself on sketches of the creature and behind-the-scenes material from Odd Studio.Of course, I applied a bit of my own signature: a slightly heavier hand on the body horror. The result was a quite impressive creature, which I believe captured the soul and essence of the Marauder! The creature's custom base was inspired by the climax setting of the film: the parking lot of the Mondo building.
