Glassware shaders!!! These are such a pleasure to work with!!!
I had the pleasure of uploading a very basic free version yesterday, but this one knocks it out of the park:
- EEVEE Only
- 2 Shaders - Solid Glass and Hollow Glass
- All procedural - no UV's required
- Light color sensitive
- Nodegroup to make controls much more intuitive and easy
- Scale specularity and Diffuse easily - remember that Ambient Occlusion and world light influences these
- Color Specularity and Diffuse easily
- Color Refraction
- Direct controls of Spec- and Refraction roughness
- 3 Models included: Suzanne, Drinking glass and a Dish modelled by a good friend of mine, Riaan Marais (he also have me all the rights to it, so it's free and clear to add)
- Animated with colored light to study how these work
- Outlines already setup per collection for ease of use
- Fake caustics in the Solid Glass shadow
Notable issues:
- Alpha Blend is an incomplete feature in Eevee - It's ignored by the compositor and some passes
- Hollow glass has to phyiscally be modelled hollow (like the drinking glass) - due to how refraction works. It's made hollow by the fact that it doesn't include the edit for caustics like response in the shadows. A solidify modifier may be ideal in these situations.
- Caustics aren't in Eevee yet and you can't add light refraction, so the shadow is broken up for caustics response (non-additive).
I added a few demo images to demonstrate these on complex models too! :D
This is a FANTASTIC addition to any scene that has glassware in it!
