Haman character wearing pants and shirt

Haman character wearing pants and shirt 3D model

Description

Haman is a Make Human based, MHX rigged character I made for my short film Esther 6. He was one of my fav models, so I'm definitely putting him up here for you guys to use as well!

The MHX rig is fantastic, because it has the right amount of built-in controls that lets you add whatever little bits extra you need.

Blend Features:

  • Loose parts (hat, trousers, jacket, etc.), which means you can customize to your heart's content
  • IK arms and legs, the rest are FK and shapekeys - perfect balance!
  • Cycles and Eevee materials for your engine of choice - with my custom NPR shaders for Eevee as a bonus.
  • All textures are procedural for a customizable result - including the eyes which form part of my custom node group specifically for NPR eyes.
  • 14 Custom shapekeys, controlled with custom properties in the object data, for expressions controls on top of some facial bones (happy, sad, angry, etc. and eyebrow and mouth controls)
  • Separate solid teeth shapes at the front of the mouth for that classic solid cartoon teeth look
  • Body available under clothes through mask modifiers, no genitals
  • Freestyle Line style and markings done
  • Subdivision at render for easy animation
  • Production tested - See Esther YouTube preview and images

OBJ, FBX, GLTF, DAE Features:

  • Unrigged (MHX rig is incompatible outside Blend files)
  • A-Pose
  • Separate pieces; aligned
  • All materials in their slots
  • Image Texture version of the eye texture (embedded except for DAE and OBJ)
  • Subdivision removed, except on head dress
  • Export/Import tested with Blender; no issues found

STL Features:

  • Posed and joined pieces
  • Thickened to overlap for printing if so desired

Easily customizable, because pretty much everything is loose. Meaning, while you keep his face, he can have a darker or lighter skin tone, different outfit and you can even adapt him for a hero if you wish.

Time Saver Tip: I totally recommend using his body to model clothes for him, because that means your weights will be retained and makes rigging easier if you're using the blend file.

NOTE: Plugins used is just the Make Human plugin that is used to import the model into blender - MHX2. Some of the rig is compiled using a script from make human, that allows you to snap IK and IK controls and various other edits to the rig, but this editing option breaks when appended to a 2.9 project, so shouldn't affect you in anyway since this connection is already broken on this model when it was converted to 2.9 for Cycles and Eevee.

I absolutely love this character and I know you will too! Customize to your heart's content!

I hope to make a prequal for Esther at some point, then I hope he'll make a comeback! :D

Thank you! Also a huge fav. Such a pity he's a villain in this instance. When he relaxes he looks like such a nice guy! lol. I think he'd be really awesome if implemented as an Indian, Persian or Arabic hero of some kind (ancient Persia encompassed at least some part of both India and Arabia). Sort of like Aladdin, but less of a thief, LOL.
