It is a perennial herb that can grow up to 3ft in height, and produce several flower heads that range from white, pink, and yellow in color. They are similar in appearance to the black eyed susan. Echinacea species can easily cross pollinate with one another, with the Paradoxa variety commonly hybridized to make some of the most bizarrely colored coneflowers marketed in the nursery industry.
