Description
This is a 100% customizable tag. This tag can be configured into any message, that is between 1 and 10 characters long. This file only includes the English capital alphabet, as well as a space, but for more compatible characters, you can visit the Dovetail Tile System collection. The different letter tiles give the tag a scrabble feel, as well as making the tag completely customizable. This tag can also be changed to different text later due to the removable pin that keeps the letters in. Although, depending on the tolerance of your printer, you may need to use an Allen key or something of that sort to get the pin out.
This file is part of the larger Dovetail Tile System collection. For more dovetail tile characters and dovetail tile compatible customizable things, visit the Dovetail Tile System collection.
Printing Instructions
- Material: PLA or PETG (for extra strength)
- Supports: No
- Brim: You may need a brim on the pin
- Orientation:
- Print the body on its back
- Print the characters, character side, on the build plate (for a better surface finish)
- Print the pin horizontally, do not print it vertically
- Filament changes: No filament changes are required, but a filament change on the text really makes the letters pop out
Required Pieces
- Body of tag (comes in character links from 1 to 10 characters) (included)
- Dovetail tiles (This file includes the entire capital letter alphabet and a space. For more compatible character tiles and customizable things using those tiles, visit the Dovetail Tile System collection) (included)
- Pin (included)
- String or keychain ring (to attach the tag to things) (not included)
Assembly
- Print the tag body that is the correct link for the amount of characters you plan to use
- Print all the letters you intend to use in your tag (a color change for the text on the letters really makes them pop, but is not required)
- Place your letters in the order you would like them to appear inside the body of the tag
- Once you have put all the letters inside the body of the tag, ensure that the last letter's hole lines up with the pinhole in the end of the tag
- Insert the pin through the body of the tag and through the last letter
- Attach a keychain ring, or a piece of string to the hole on the body of the tag meant for that purpose
- Attach your tag to your keys or whatever you plan to use it to identify
