DESCRIPTION

This is a simple magnetic belt buckle, that can be added to a strip of belt material to create a unique belt.

Print Instructions

  • Material: PLA or PETG
  • Supports: No
  • Orientation:
    • Print all the pieces face down to minimize supports

Parts

  • Left and right belt buckle pieces (included)
  • Magnets (18 mm in diameter and 4 mm thick) (not included)
  • Strip of belt material (40 mm wide, 2.5 to 3 mm thick, and whatever length you need) (not included)
  • Glue (optional) (not included)

Assembly

  • Place 4 magnets in one part of the belt buckle, ensuring that their polarities are all going in the same direction
  • Place 4 magnets in the other part of the belt buckle, ensuring that their polarities match up with the magnets in the other half of the belt buckle
  • Use glue if needed to secure the magnets into the belt buckle (optional)
  • Slide the belt buckle together to ensure that the polarities of the magnets match
  • Identify the half of the belt buckle that only has one slit and feed the belt material through that slit
  • Fold the belt material over and then sew it onto itself so it encloses the slit in a loop (as shown in photos)
  • Identify the half of the belt buckle that has two slits
  • Feed the free end of the belt material up into the slit, closest to the magnets, and then back down through the slit furthest away from the magnets (as shown in photos)
  • Then tighten the free end of the belt as needed
