please ADD non-LOWPOLY option for search!

Discussion started by dollfiedream

Thank you for reading. I would -really- like to see an option for NO-lowpoly options in the search because I really do NOT want lowpoly stuff for 3D printing. I'm not interested in textures or animated models.

Every time I need to sort out which model has enough polygons to be printed smoothly. Please consider adding that option! (...and No just clicking on the highest mesh count is not an option giving way too little hits)

Thank you in advance,

Kind regards.

If you go, lets say, 3D Models-car, and than choose 3d print on the attributes tab, it will show you models that are (considered as) 3d printable, why some of those 3d printable models are stolen from video games and why they are low poly it's a separated topic. Not every high poly model can be used for 3d printing so option to filter between high poly and low poly models is useless to someone who is only interested in 3d printing.

Hi ty very much for replying. The thing is that most of my 3D models were never meant to be printed but I made them so that they could. That is why I am also looking in the non-3D print section and need that low-poly off option :)

Problem is lack of control, there isn't administration check before publishing a model, so you can publish anything, "low poly model" with 200 000 polygons or "high poly" with 5000. In one word, there is a mess out there, maybe that "no low poly" option will help a bit, but my opinion is that impact of that option will be too small for the mess and chaos that currently reigns there.

Thing is when you are publishing model on CGtrader you have to choose between "CGI models" and "3D print models".
But naturally many of these "CGI models" also can be printed.
So instead of two big separated categories there should be "Printable" option for publishers for ALL models.

Other thing is that majority of publishers probably don't know anything about printing and would abuse this option a lot even for non-printable stuff just to get more sales.
