Edaphosaurus Novomexicanus Torso STL

Edaphosaurus Novomexicanus Torso STL 3D print model

Description

The Torso of my Edaphosaurus Novomexicanus, modified for STL printing. Assembled dimensions are approximately 5.53 in X 9.96 in X 5.98 in (14.04 cm X 25.29 cm X 15.2 cm ).

Some assembly required. Video assembly guide included (in AVI).

Note 1: This is my second experiment in posing a model before preparing it for STL printing. In this case, I wasn't able to fit all the pieces on a 15 cm X 15 cm plane, so I have the six components in separate STL files in the same folder. The video assembly guide and the pictures reflect this.

Note 2: While I have a link to the assembly guide on YouTube, I have other assembly guides that you may want to see. All the models for which I have assembly guides thus far are Dilophosaurus, Eolambia, Short-faced Bear (a. k. a. Arctodus), Uintatherium, Dimetrodon, and Edaphosaurus. To see each of the guides for each of these models that require assembly, just enter the name of the model, followed by "assembly guide".

Note 3: I modeled these in various versions of the Blender modeling program. While I've been able to export the models in OBJ and STL formats, I've had problems exporting to the Direct X .X format. I can export non-animated models to that format, and I can export models to that format with the armature intact; but, while the models deform with the armature before the export, afterwards they don't. If anyone has had success exporting to .X format in Blender with a model that deforms with the armature, and can give me specific instructions on how I can get it to work for me, please let me know. I look forward to comments on this subject, as well as comments on the assembly guides and the models I've uploaded here.
