This 3D printable set depicts a WW2 refugee small cart, created as a narrative prop for 1:35 scale historical dioramas.

The model is inspired by wartime civilian evacuation and the improvised transport of personal belongings during the Second World War. It is well suited for ruined urban environments, refugee movement scenes, village roads, railway surroundings, civilian wartime setups and other historical compositions where the atmosphere of displacement and survival is important.

The set is designed to be versatile. It includes a fully assembled cart loaded with luggage and bundled belongings, an empty assembled version of the cart, separate grouped cargo, individual props that can be placed independently, and a disassembled version to make printing and assembly easier. This gives you the freedom to use the model either as a ready-made storytelling element or as a modular set of props for your own scene layout.

The cargo is intentionally handled in a modular way so the user can decide how to arrange the pieces inside the cart or elsewhere in the diorama. Suitcases, bundles and luggage pieces can be placed in the wagon, beside a ruined wall, near civilians, next to a vehicle, or used as standalone storytelling elements.

Please note that ropes, tie-downs and fastening straps are not included as sculpted printable parts. This was a deliberate decision to improve printability and avoid fragile or oversized printed restraints at this scale. For the most convincing result, these details can be added after printing using thread, fine wire, paper strips, masking tape, foil or other scale modelling materials. This gives the builder more control and usually produces a more natural final appearance.

Included files / set contents

The downloadable pack includes STL and OBJ files.

It contains the assembled small cart with luggage, the assembled empty cart without cargo, a grouped cargo version, separate individual luggage props, and a disassembled version for easier printing and more flexible assembly.

Suggested use

This set works especially well in WW2 civilian dioramas, refugee scenes, evacuation columns, ruined streets, bombed towns, Eastern European wartime environments, railway or station scenes, abandoned road settings, historical miniature compositions and military dioramas that include civilian storytelling elements.

Important note about ropes and securing elements

Ropes, straps and tie-down elements are not included as part of the printed model.

This choice was made intentionally to keep the kit more printer-friendly and to avoid very thin printed details that could become too fragile or visually too heavy in 1:35 scale. For a better and more realistic finish, I recommend adding those details manually after printing with string, thread, wire, lead foil, paper strips or similar modelling materials.

This also allows each builder to secure the luggage in their own preferred way depending on the final diorama composition.

Scale note

This model is designed for 1:35 scale dioramas.

Final print size may vary depending on your printer, slicer settings and project requirements. The model can be rescaled if needed.

Printing note

Depending on the version you choose to print, supports may be required. The separate and disassembled versions are included to simplify printing, cleanup and final assembly. A resin printer is recommended for the best level of detail, especially on the cart structure, wheel geometry and luggage surfaces.

Support strategy, hollowing, final scaling and assembly method are left to the user’s own workflow and printer setup.
