Very accurate scale model of the DR BR 24 originally modeled for the Train simulator game and converted to a printable model !

Almost every nut and rivet is reproduced as well as every pipe, the braking system and the Walschaerts type connecting rod mechanism. The connecting rods on the right and left side are in a 90° staggered installation for a faithful reproduction. This printed model will look great on your diorama as a showcase loco in the siding or in the maintenance shop.

All print scales are possible as the locomotive has been modeled at 1/1 scale.

The model shown in the picture is printed at 1/87th in resin and placed on a Marklïn track element in HO format.

This model is neither articulated nor motorized and is intended for static use.

3D PRINTING SETTINGS

• Modeled at 1/1 scale so that a rule of three is sufficient to obtain the desired scale. (ex 1/87th > x 0.01149)
• BE CAREFUL to print all parts at the same scale to allow the nesting
• The pictures show the model printed on a standard grey resin Elegoo Mars 1 at 1/87 scale
• The stl of the tender axle must be printed in 3 copies
• Orientation advice (see screenshots): 10° roll and 60° pitch
• The model is already hollowed out and has holes to evacuate the resin under the chassis
• A slight grinding of the tenons is necessary for the interlocking (mainly length of the axles of the tender)
• The tender coupling is difficult to fit to the loco because of the pipes hanging on the loco and going to the tender, I had to recut these pipes a little to allow a fitting.
• BE CAREFUL to find the right configuration of the driving axles BEFORE GLUING to match the position of the connecting rod (wheel counterweights to be placed backwards on the left of the loco, and counterweights on the top on the right of the loco)
• I advise to paint all parts before gluing
• The very thin parts such as the sand tubes and the hoops around the lanterns did not print in 100% of my 1/87 tests (see pictures)
