French Richelieu Class Battleship

French Richelieu Class Battleship 3D print model

Description

1/1800th scale Richelieu Class Battleship model. Certain elements not to scale.

The Richelieu class were a pair of battleships built for the French Navy in the years leading up to WWII. They were the last battleships built for the French Navy and served through the 1960's. The Jean Bart was only 75% complete at the onset of the war, and was not completed until a number of years after the war.

Four versions are included; the Richelieu in a WWII configuration, the Jean Bart as she appeared uncompleted during the battle of Casablanca, the Jean Bart as she was proposed to be completed in the US during the war as an antiaircraft battleship, and the Jean Bart as she was completed after the war.

This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.

This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.

Update 14 Aug 19: Added boats and anchor chains. Added hypothetical US built Antiaircraft Battleship configuration. Update 05 Nov 19: Added post war configuration for Jean Bart. Update 20 Jan 20: Adjutments to incomplete Jean Bart with better detail.

Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
