Designer's notes

The following section is information about the design process, what the idea behind the models were and why they turned out the way they did, et cetera. It is not strictly speaking something you as a customer need to know, but you may find it interesting.

The Nonformer was an experiment, to get a feel for how best to cut up a vehicle model and redesign the parts into something that resembles a Transformer stylistically. Creating a model kit for a robot with actual, practical transforming ability would be a substantially larger project, and may be something I'll try at some point in the future. So this model pack was a kind of dry run for the real thing. The vehicle mode of the Nonformer is an Autoblinda 40, an Italian WW2 armored car I had previously released a a separate model. I just took it, cut it into a number of pieces that I felt made sense, and then stuck them onto an android model I'd also designed previously. So the Nonformer is very much a mashup. This also explains why the Nonformer differ aesthetically from a real Transformer in a number of ways. Again, this was just an experiment. I simply didn't bother designing the entire model from scratch even if that would have enabled me to stick closer to the classic Transformer style of the Bob Budiansky era.

There isn't a specific use intended for the models. You may perhaps want to print and use them as decoration. Or you can make up your own ruleset for the models and use them in a miniature tabletop game of your choice (Konflikt 47, 40k, Trench Crusade et cetera). You could for example give the unit the ability to transform between robot and armored car mode, and replace one model with the other on the tabletop to visualize the ability. Just a suggestion.
