fantastic model!Fantastic and very accurate, he does the research. As a professional modeler, (and qualified submariner) this model was too good to pass up for the on-sale price. The detail is exceptional and the thought put into designing it shows. As with most submarines, reference material can be difficult to come by or confusing to the layman. This ship was modified twice in the first few years to prepare for its North pole voyage and this model has details that combine both, rather than two versions. Example: The upper bow-mounted forward-looking sonar is offset on the model but mounted on the centerline in reality. The sonar window rivets are far too large. The chin mount sonar "dome" on the keel is a little off, (should be a little more rounded at the rear before it fairs into the hull.) The linear slide to operate the bow planes is a nice touch! The Nautilus, (now a museum) is moored near where I live, and I've taken many visitors on tours; (my first was when I was in submarine school.) This model is a fitting tribute to a fine ship!
Late Entry: The bow planes have an open hole on the outboard edge that needed to be patched.this is such a great file of the 571. prints like a dream.
