This lighting system was inspired by the the mechanical designs of that era.Using fibre-optics I was able to create a unique retro lighting system with swappablerecord-like discs.
The main feature of this design is the small fibre-optic display that allows patterns, wavylines, colours or any imagery on swappable discs, to be transmitted through fibre-optic fibresinto the model. In addition to the screen, four individual “channels”on the FibreDiscs, project four unique colour sequences for different fibre strands,Changing the discs changes the display, light colour and flashing sequence.
Creating the small display requires a steady hand and patience, but with guidancefrom the included PDF instructions, the result is unique and fun.I have included an iPhone mount and specially designed videos for it, so that videocan be shown on the tiny display.
My electronics knowledge is not extensive, but the PDF includes an acceptablecircuit, if you think of a better way to wire it, then go for it. I encourage you toexplore the concept and get creative. The connectors, battery unit and magnetswitches are designed for you to be able to assemble it how you wish.Enjoy!
