1/5
I love the utility of my GE Profile Combo Washer/Dryer, but if you own this machine you probably know about the flawed filter design that allows lint to clog the refrigerant coils.
I have had some success with notable DIY solutions including installing foam weatherstripping around the sides of the filter, but the weatherstripping filling the critical gap in the back of the filter housing tended to fail and fall off, and am imprecise fit allowed some lint to collect on the coils.
I wanted a more permanent, precise, and user-friendly solution, and so I measured the filter housing and modeled this upgrade piece that attaches to the back of the filter, and allows a continuous piece of 3/8wide x 3/16 thick foam weatherstrip to seal the entire perimeter of the filter.
Printing Recommendations
Material: PETGInfill: 10% GyroidWalls: 4 / 1.6mmSupport: Tree
PETG is recommended for heat resilience and durability. PLA is not recommended and was not tested. 10% gyroid infill felt sufficient, and I use 4 walls on functional parts for additional strength.
