HEXAGONAL ROTATING LITHOPHANE LAMP 3D print model

This lamp uses 6x(90x90x3mm) and 12x(44x44x3mm) lithophanes.

Print:

1. rotating_hexagonal_lithophane_lamp_base x1
2. rotating_hexagonal_lithophane_lamp_base_top x1
3. rotating_hexagonal_lithophane_lamp_frame x2
4. rotating_hexagonal_lithophane_lamp_frame_top x2
5. rotating_hexagonal_lithophane_lamp_spacer x6
6. Print your lithophanes with the dimensions above and make sure you use 2mm frame so it fits perfectly in the designed slots.

There is also a single level version available. Just print the ONE LEVEL file, along with a single frame and frame top.

Assembling the components together:

Place the lithophanes in the desired frame. The lithophanes should be sticking upward 2mm, creting a slot for the frame top to be snapped in place. (Note: the frame has a tolerance of 0.4mm for the thickness of the lithophanes and 0.4mm for the length). You can use a drop of superglue on the frame top to secure it to the lithophane frame if you wish, but there is no need. Use the spacers to sepparate the two smaller lithophanes. Wrap your LED strip around the cylinder and make the required electrical connections. Assemble the frames and place them on top of the lithophane base. Using a M3x12 screw, secure the lithophane top with the cylinder from the lithophane base. Light it up and enjoy.

Printing this model is straight forward. Use minimum supports for the slots for the spinning mechanism (for the frames) and the lithophane slots for the frame top, and for the spacers.

PLA filament 0.2mm layer height 60mm/s speed Supports - everywhere (only for the frame, frame top and spacers)

Print your lithophanes at 0.12 layer height.

Be careful if your bed is not leveled and you have elephants foot. If your printed parts are not fitting together, use a razor blade to carefully trim the edges of the notches. It has 0,4mm tolerance for that purpose, it should be perfect for you too.
