DESCRIPTION

Jack Spool Holder

Compact and adjustable filament spool holder for various spool widths, from 35 up to 105 mm.

Print settings:

  • Material: PLA (screw), PET-G (other)
  • Layer height: 0.25 mm
  • Line width: 0.45
  • Wall line count: 2
  • Top/Bottom layers: 3
  • Infill: 15-25%
  • Speed: 'Arm L/R', 'Nut L/R' and 'Screw' - 15mm/s, other parts - 50 mm/s

Hardware:

  • Bearing 608z / 608zz (22x8x7mm) - 4 pcs
  • M3x12 hex bolt - 6 pcs
  • M3 nut - 6 pcs

Printing:

  1. Print 'Half in' and 'Half out' twice
  2. Print 'Arm L' and 'Arm R' twice
  3. Print the remaining parts once

Post processing:

  1. Remove artificial bridges in holes of 'Half in/out' with 3.5 mm drill bit
  2. If necessary enlarge holes in 'Arm L/R' and 'Nut L/R' with 2 mm (ideally 1.75 mm) drill bit to fit hinge pins made of 1.75 filament string

Assembly:

  1. Put two bearings into pins of 'Half out' part
  2. Cover bearings with 'Half in' part
  3. Screw both halves with three M3 bolts and M3 nuts
  4. Insert 'Arm L' and 'Arm R' into inner slot wide open
  5. Secure arms with 8 mm pins made of filament (slide in filament and cut it with flush cutters - see photo)
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 for the second side of spool holder
  7. Screw 'Nut L' and 'Nut R' onto 'Screw' so that they remain the same distance from the middle of the screw
  8. Put 'Knob' on screw
  9. Connect arms with nuts and secure them with 8 mm pins made of filament
  10. Optionally use a drop of super glue or soldering iron to keep pins in place
  11. Optionally add damper pads to the bottom of spool holder to prevent it from sliding

I initially found this file on thingiverse and was somewhat upset at the fact it was only a preview to get people to buy the files on another site. On the other hand, this is the only spool holder that works exactly like what I wanted. Money well spent and thank you.

Super! Ein toller Entwurf und einfach zu drucken! Ich habe schon einige Filamentabroller und mußte bei unterschiedlichen Herstellern immer wieder wechseln bzw. ich habe 2 einzelne die ich unter die Rolle gestellt habe. Das ganze hat keinen festen Stand gehabt aber durch diesen verstellbaren Abrollen steht die Rolle nun stabil auf dem Tisch! So brauche ich nun nur noch einen Filamentabroller für alle! Danke für den tollen Entwurf! ----------------------------------------------------------- Super! A great design and easy to print! I already have a few filament dispenser and had to change again and again with different manufacturers or I have 2 individual that I put under the roll. The whole thing has not had a firm stand but through this adjustable unwind the roll is now stable on the table! So now I need only one filament dispenser for all! Thanks for the great design!

Ich habe den filament spool holder mir nochmals um 30% größer (130%) ausgedruckt. Weil ich bei der bisherigen Version das Problem habe das die Rollen ziemlich dicht zusammen sind und sich so die Filamentspule leicht aus der filament spool holder heraus zieht! Besonders bei dem billigen Filament welches schwerer abrollt. Ich habe leider kein CAD-Programm deshalb habe ich es nur Vergrößern können. Bei der 130% Version habe ich größere Lager und M4 Schrauben verwendet. Was gut Funktioniert. Leider sind die Flanken an den Lagern zu hoch. So das bei voller Rolle das Filament aufliegt! Ich würde mich sehr über eine Variante freuen bei der Ursprünglichen Version die Lager weiter auseinander sind. Damit die Filamentrolle besser im Abrollen sitzt! ---------------------------------------- I have printed the filament spool holder 30% larger (130%). Because I have the problem with the previous version that the rolls are quite close together and so the filament spool easily pulls out of the filament spool holder! Especially with the cheap filament which rolls off harder. I unfortunately do not have a CAD program so I could only enlarge it. For the 130% version I used larger bearings and M4 screws. What works well. Unfortunately, the flanks on the bearings are too high. So that when full roll the filament lies on! I would be very happy about a variant in the original version of the bearings are further apart. So that the filament roll sits better in the unrolling!
