BALD TOM:Thomas Tom Cat, better known as Tom (or also Tom the Cat), is the protagonist of the animated classic Tom and Jerry, by Metro Goldwyn Mayer and Hanna-Barbera. Created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, he is a mostly mute, blue-gray and white short-haired domestic cat who first appeared in the 1940 MGM animated short, Puss Gets the Boot.His name, Tom Cat, is based on tomcat, a phrase referring to male cats. He is usually mute and is rarely heard speaking, the only notable vocal sounds from him outside of this being the various screams from him whenever he is subject to panic or, more frequently, pain.He is continually after Jerry the Mouse, for whom he sets traps, many of which backfire and cause harm to him instead of Jerry.
