This is a version of my magnet couplings that has specifically been designed to replace Airfix Models Coupling. You may need to disasemble the Airfix coupling to fit (make sure you know how it goes back together first, I had some metal that helped coupling spring back in place.
Back in 2023 I launched a NEM Pipe version and have added other types since but I recently got asked to do a version that could be fitted to a Airfix model, so I bought a Airfix coach and designed this version to fit it, please check you have got the same design as in the photos. This Airfix design is the same height as the NEM coupling and the two types can be coupled together.
My biggest concern with this was the strength of a resin for something like a coupling, so the design was kept fairly simple to maximize the strength. As with the NEM design I recommend you use ABS like resin or something similar, I used AnyCubic ABS Like Resin.

Please be aware that 3D printed couplings will not be as strong as injected molded couplings, with using these you will probably need spares on hand in case of any break. With the ABS-like resin I have had minimal failures but nothing is perfect.
I have included a range of sizes as different rolling stock need different lengths (Please message me if you would like other sizes). These Buckeye Couplings come in 16mm, 17mm, 18mm, 19mm and 20mm versions (Distances are measured from Airfix pin centre to Magnet Face - see pictures).Magnets need to be glued in and you need to have the correct magnetic polarity for each magnet. This is very important for coupling together. The examples in the pictures were printed on an AnyCubic Proton M3 3D resin printer. For dimensional accuracy, I would recommend printing on a resin printer.
