This is the second variation of my Modern Sisyphus collection. While the first focused on general hardship, this piece specifically explores the struggle of career and intellectual ambition.

The sculpture depicts a mother in business attire (suit and heels), pushing a cratered moon-like boulder up a steep mountain made of open books. Each step is a page featuring engraved text about poetry and the human soul (In English they say...). While she strives to reach the peak of success or knowledge, she leaves behind her child and a teddy bear at the bottom of the mountain, illustrating the tragic cost of balancing professional ambition with parenthood.

Key Details:

The Base: Formed by oversized, realistic open books with legible text engraved on the pages.

The Figure: Dressed in detailed office wear, symbolizing the working mother.

The Back: Features an intricate floral/tree relief pattern on the spine of the structure.

Symbolism: Includes details like the Deus Vult book spine and other hidden symbols.
