Labrador Dog Head Bust 3d printable model

The Labrador Retriever, also known as the Labrador, is a gun dog breed that originated in the United Kingdom. It was developed from St. John's water dogs that were brought from Newfoundland, which is now a province of Canada. The breed was named after the Labrador region in Newfoundland. Labradors are widely popular and commonly kept in many countries, especially in Europe.

Labradors are known for their friendly nature, high energy levels, and playful demeanor. Although they were initially bred as sporting and hunting dogs, they are now commonly kept as companion dogs. Labradors can also be trained as guide or assistance dogs, as well as for rescue or therapy work.

In the 1830s, the 10th Earl of Home and his nephews, the 5th Duke of Buccleuch and Lord John Scott, imported the ancestors of the Labrador breed from Newfoundland to Europe for their use as gun dogs. Another early supporter of these Newfoundland fishing dogs was the 2nd Earl of Malmesbury, who bred them specifically for their skills in waterfowling.

During the 1880s, the 3rd Earl of Malmesbury, the 6th Duke of Buccleuch, and the 12th Earl of Home collaborated to further develop and establish the Labrador Retriever breed. The dogs Buccleuch Avon and Buccleuch Ned, which were given by Malmesbury to Buccleuch, were bred with female dogs that carried the bloodline of the original imports by the 5th Duke and the 10th Earl of Home. The descendants of these dogs are the ancestors of all modern Labradors.
