Window Glass Shader by 3D Tudor is a native Blender material system for windows and lantern panes. Its Automatic Panes Geometry Nodes modifier gives disconnected faces or islands individual pane treatment, with 59 exposed controls for the glass finish, edge tint, dirt, surface wear and optional glow.
Five windows and a lantern to start from
The supplied scene provides five window examples and one lantern, including pale panes, warm illuminated glass and red diamond patterns. These examples place the shader in context while the reusable pane system supports your own open pane meshes. It does not generate complete window frames.
Independent glass and dirt settings
Adjust glass colour, opacity and roughness separately from the opaque dirt overlay. Glass Edge Colour and Edge Tint Amount affect the pane boundary without requiring dirt. The overlay has inner and outer colours, inward reach, coverage, boundary softness, opacity, roughness and apparent edge/grain relief.
Basic, Rounded and Circular clear-centre shapes change the dirt distribution. Pattern and coverage variation add differences across panes; separate seeds reshuffle those differences. Glass pattern placement can also change per disconnected island.
Surface detail and illumination
Combine glass colour variation and fine bump with cloudiness, frost, handmade ripples, scratches and speckles. Consistent World Scale controls glass-detail sizing across objects while dirt retains its own mapping. Wear Near Edges concentrates marks towards pane boundaries. Optional glow separates centre and edge intensity; advanced reflection and metallic-mirror controls offer additional finishes.
Ripples and bump are shading effects, not geometric displacement. Reducing glow and using side lighting helps reveal subtle surface changes. Edge Mapping Quality changes the geometry used to measure pane boundaries, so increasing it also increases cost.
Native files and demonstrations
The editable product is the Blender file, including its nodes, materials and packed textures. All 33 file-source image datablocks are packed. The package includes a starting guide, an approximately 7-minute-58-second silent controls demonstration and a 14-second silent preview. Ten material datablocks in the scene include frame and candle materials; they are not ten glass presets.
Supplementary FBX, OBJ and GLB references
Static reference exports contain 13 evaluated meshes with 483,982 triangles. All three formats were reimported into fresh Blender scenes, retaining 13 objects, the triangle count and a UV layer on every object. These files use a neutral identification material. They provide geometry and layout references; they do not reproduce the procedural glass/dirt shader, provide baked textures or replace the editable Blender file.
Technical information
Verified inspection version: Blender 5.2.2 LTS. Supplied renderer: Cycles. A Cycles test render of one window completed successfully. At the supplied settings, the evaluated scene has 257,105 vertices and 242,945 polygons; totals change when the modifier settings change. No linked libraries or undefined nodes were found.
Before purchase
Earlier Blender versions, other renderers and transparent/mirror extremes have not been qualified. Some Material Preview viewing angles can show shimmer with scratches or speckles. Check the material in your intended scene lighting and final render. This listing supplies one product download under CGTrader’s applicable Royalty Free licence.
Inspecting the geometry
The interactive viewer, when available, is a geometry preview. Use the rendered images and video to judge the glass finish; the procedural shader requires the supplied Blender project.Window Glass Shader by 3D Tudor is a native Blender material system for windows and lantern panes.
