Name: Rhacophyton Condrusorum
Period: Mid to Late Devonian. 393.3 to 359.9 million years ago.
This Variation: This is a Low Poly model. A High Poly version is also available.
Notes: An extinct plant from the Devonian period once thought to be the ancestor of all ferns. This is no longer considered the case and this plant has no surviving descendants, though its resemblance to later ferns remains the case. It existed from the mid to late Devonian period growing in the understory of what was to later become the vast Carboniferous forests. Like many primitive Devonian plants it did not have true leaves, but relied on photosynthesising thin stem ends.
