Notes: This plant has been cultivated for over 8,000 years and has a long history with human civilisation. Today it is grown in extensive orchards in Africa and Asia, as well as an ornamental species in many parts of the world. In it's natural range, Date Palms can be found in most places with well-drained sandy soil. It is probably native to northern Africa, but exact origin is difficult to determine due to extensive cultivation.

  9. Dying -- 45,354 polygons, 73,232 vertices, 25.41m tall. Just hanging onto life and showing only unhealthy and diseased foliage.
  10. Dead -- 12,088 polygons, 17,121 vertices, 20.97m tall. Showing only bare and broken branches and dead foliage.
  11. Ancient -- 152,981 polygons, 266,926 vertices, 29.03m tall. Very old plant, larger and considerably gnarled.
  12. Young -- 196,763 polygons, 328,775 vertices, 18.16m tall. Smaller plant, fully mature but still growing.
  13. Growing -- 50,612 polygons, 104,875 vertices, 10.52m tall. Plant not yet mature, some half way through its growing cycle.
  14. Immature -- 22,094 polygons, 52,212 vertices, 5.14m tall. Very small and young plant.
  15. Forming -- 15,682 polygons, 38,505 vertices, 2.73m tall. Extremely young and small but taking on its adult shape.
  16. Sapling -- 11,383 polygons, 30,268 vertices, 1.8m tall. Recently sprouted.
