Chengdu, abbreviated as Rong and also known as Rongcheng or Jincheng, is a prefecture level city, provincial capital, sub provincial city, mega city, and core city of the Chengdu metropolitan area in Sichuan Province. It is located in the southwest of China, in the western Sichuan Basin, on the eastern edge of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, in the heart of the Chengdu Plain. It has a subtropical monsoon climate, abundant heat, abundant rainfall, distinct four seasons, a total area of 14335 square kilometers, and the common language is Southwest Mandarin. Chengdu is one of the first national historical and cultural cities, an important birthplace of ancient Shu civilization, and has a rare historical feature of being built in 3500 years and its name remaining unchanged for 2500 years. As early as about 4500 to 3700 years ago, a series of ancient Shu ancestors' settlement centers known as the Baodun Culture had already appeared in the Chengdu Plain. In 316 BC, Qin conquered Shu and established Shu Commandery and Chengdu County, which became the capital of Shu Commandery. The construction of Dacheng and Shaocheng in 311 BC is widely recognized by later generations as the documented symbol of Chengdu's founding. After that, Li Bing, the governor of Shu, presided over the construction of the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project Water Conservancy Project, making the Chengdu Plain the Land of Abundance and the economic, political and cultural center of southwest China. In 1921, the Municipal Preparatory Office was established, and in 1928, Chengdu was officially established as a city. Chengdu is an important central city in western China approved by the State Council, an international comprehensive transportation hub city, a western economic center, a western science and technology innovation center, a western foreign exchange center, and a national advanced manufacturing base. It adopts a combination design of alfalfa leaf bridge type and single tower double cable plane cable-stayed bridge. The main tower is 78.3 meters high and has an A-shaped shape. The top of the tower is embedded with the Sun God Bird emblem of ancient Shu Jinsha culture with a diameter of 8 meters.Tianfu Square, located at No. 86, Section 1, Renmin South Road, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, was built in 2007. It is the political and cultural center and comprehensive transportation hub of Sichuan Province and Chengdu City.
Tianfu Square covers an area of 88000 square meters, with a rectangular shape and a length to width ratio of approximately 1.5:1. The ground is paved with light colored granite slabs. To the north of Tianfu Square is the statue of Mao Zedong, which reaches a height of 30 meters. The square is divided into two main parts, the East Square and the West Square, separated by the curve in the middle of the Taiji cloud map on the square. The East Square is a sunken square, while the West Square mainly features a fountain landscape. The landscape includes the Sun God Bird, Fish Eye Dragon Soaring Fountain, Yellow Dragon Cloud shaped Waterfall, and ebony carved steles. The Tai Chi cloud map in the square is a reflection of Taoist Yin Yang Tai Chi. The huge shape of the Sun God Bird is located at the center of the Tai Chi pattern.
In 2018, Tianfu Square won the Most Beautiful Chengdu Top Ten Popular Landmarks Award.The New Century Global Center (Chengdu Global Center) is located at 1700 North Tianfu Avenue, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It covers an area of approximately 1300 acres and has a total construction area of approximately 1.76 million square meters. It is a multifunctional building that integrates entertainment, exhibitions, business, shopping, and hotels. It belongs to the jurisdiction of Guixi Street in Chengdu High tech Zone.
