Sony TV8-301 - 1960 3D model

This is based on the TV8-301, Sony's first transistorized portable television from 1960. While there are a number of television devices from this era that are unique in terms of industrial design, I found this to be the most interesting of them all. The unusual contour of the CRT screen as well as the switchgear style are different from the chrome plated knobs and levers. The texturing has been performed to replicate a vintage appliance that has been worn down over time. Metal labels, stickers and markings upon the surface of the appliance have been carefully aged to reflect the 60 years that have passed since its introduction.
