Description

the starwars rebel collection consists of the Y-wing, A-wing and B-wing fighters.

Star Wars A-Wing fighter 1/16th scale. model consists of 85 stl files scaled to 1/16th scale, for 1/35th scale simply scale to 50% in slicer program. this model has been created using a creality cr 10 300 x 300 x 300 build plat and a anycubic photon s resin printer, all parts can be printed on a FDM printer. the cockpit canopy was made using a 3d printed plug then vac formed with 1mm petg sheet on a home made vac forming box which is really simple to make( plenty of vids on youtube). the cockpit zip file contains stl files for resin canopy print in clear resin or simply a printed canopy , vac form plug and canopy frame stl files for vac formed canopy. there are options to illuminate the instruments( i printed the instrument console in clear resin then painted it up with a single led inside again how you go about lighting it up if you choose to do so is up to you but i can help if needed. model has the ability to be displayed either in flight mode with a 10mm rod( hole to accept the rod is hidden under a panel on the underside, or in landing mode with a full landing gear and gear doors.

Starwars A/SF-01 B-wing starfighter. Model consists of 63 stl files, the model you see here is 1/18th scale and measures approx 1000mm long, the file were scaled up too 400% to achieve that size. all files where cut to allow parts to be printed in the best orientation for quality. the only extra needed is 16mm dia aluminium tube for the wing hinges. I also supply a Decal sheet at a cost of £10+p&p just contact me if you are interested in a sheet. wings are articulated as is the cockpit so model can be displayed in multiple orientations. included are the full model stl at 1/72 scale and a revised canopy and canopy plug for vacforming.

BTL-A4 Y-wing starfighter. paint job is based on Gold 2. consisting of 152 stl files,( i Have scaled my y-wing to 400% in the slicer software) some are split into seperate parts to allow for better orentation when printing. Pipe stl files are included altough i have used styrene rod for the pipes on my model as they require less work to make. also cockpit has been fully fitted out with fibre optics but that is your decision if you want to do that or not. model lenght at 400% is 3ft long.

Couple of improvements I would suggest: In your exploded diagrams, the exhaust grill isn't shown, but is easy enough to figure out. As I scaled it out to 400% the exhaust grill was a little oversized, I found 395% to work well. Also a diagram for all the pipe locations would be extremely helpful

I am currently building the Y-wing model at 400%, I am concerned that the three bottom pieces being glued together will not be strong enough. I do see there is a tunnel through all three. Is the intention to put a bar through there or did you find the glue sufficient?

The tunnel is there to allow you to use a square ally tube which is what i did, i advise the use of one on the 400% scale, as to weather its strong enough without i cankot say.

I ended up using a 3/8 Key Stock from the hardware store. I found it to be a bit tight due to poor bridging in the tunnel. So I separated the tunnel cleaned up the floor and roof, the using epoxy I glued in 17" of the 3/8" key stock into the channel front to rear.
