DNA Helix

DNA Helix Free 3D print model

Description

Ive always wanted one of these molecular models,

and now its just a matter of printing one out!

The biggest object is the base which needs at least a 14 x 14 cm build-platform.

The STL-files are optimized for the Replicator platform,

but can easily be rearranged to fit your printer.

I used a 600 x 5 mm metal rod to slide the pieces over, it helps to keep it all together.

really cool model, but it would be nice to have a build plan. For some of the parts it isn't clear how they should fit together. e.g.: - not clear which is the phosphate and which is the deoxyribose. - when you figure out that the one with 2 holes is the phosphate, it is not clear which deoxyribose hole matches with the base pair - in the screenshots, the base pairs are matched in a \/ shape, not in a -- shape - the pins that hold the model together are very small, which means that they are very susceptible to line width settings Don't get me wrong: this model is AMAZING! For any science teacher with a 3D printer this is AWESOME! But some things are a bit unclear, and clearing them up would make this model perfect :-)
