The Spider Shuriken is one of several shurikens I've designed since 1st exploring 3d print model design. As with other designs, this shuriken was inspired by several iconic aspects of film, animation, television, and / or comics. The design features the classic spider emblem and web pattern utilized on most iterations of the Spider Man character, including the eyelets of his mask. The blade design is my attempt to suggest spider legs, while also hinting at several iterations of Spider Man, where his mutations cause him to develop more grotesque aspects of a man sized spider, as well as hinting at the Iron Man-like legs of the Spider Armour.

The shuriken has been designed in several pieces, allowing for its blades to fold and unfold using a central gear to move all blades simultaneously . ** The parts include, the bodyTop, bodyBtm, blade, capTop, capBtm, the core gear, and an optional display stand. **Once assembled, cleanly printed, the blades can be unflode with the flick of a wrist, while holding one blade. The model has been test printed several times and should print well on resin and FDM printers. Supports are needed , It is best to orient parts so that interior surfaces are angled down to reduce support marks on the exterior surface, when possible.

Assembly is simple.

1. Thread the capBtm through the bodyBtm.

2. With the blade curling inward, thread the gear ends of the blades over the pivts of the bodyBtm, with the tip of the blade resting against the back of the next blade pivot.

3. Thread the core gear over the threaded capBtm, meshing the gear's teeth with those if the threaded blade gears.

4. Place the bodyTop over thepreviously assembled parts.

5. Thread the end of the capTop down into the bodyTop into the capBtm.

6. With all parts aligned and in place, twist the capTop to the clockwise to secure the assembly.
