Squidges are uncommon underwater squid-like enemies in the original Donkey Kong Country. They are small in size but often appear in groups.

Squidges do not target the Kongs, rather swim in up-and-down weaving patterns. This makes them predictable, but still dangerous when encountered in groups. As with other underwater enemies, a single stab from Enguarde's bill will defeat them. Squidges only appear in the last two underwater levels of Donkey Kong Country: Croctopus Chase and Poison Pond. In the former, they move in a zigzag direction; in the latter, they move diagonally. Touching them will damage the Kongs.

Squidges are also part of a small, humorous section in the game's credits, where after Squidge and a Chomps Jr. were introduced, the Chomps Jr. would chase the Squidge across DK's Treehouse, but flee moments later from a group of four Squidges.
