Dominion Card Game Common Cards Tray

Dominion Card Game Common Cards Tray Free 3D print model

Description

**UPDATE**: Added a totally cool new version that has the right size slots for everything and angled walls to help get the cards lined up. **NOTE**: *If you try this print, scale the z-axis down to 1/5th size (but leave X- and Y-axes alone) to do a test print.* Test the slot sizes with your actual cards. All printers are different, and you'll probably have to scale both X- and Y- to get the right fit. (For my MBot Cube 2, I actually had to scale the X-axis by 107%, and the Y-axis by 106.3% to get the right fit) Dominion is a great game, but always lots of counting and sorting of cards, and making space to lay out all the piles. I was able to make perfect-sized slots. The cards are snug, but still easy to insert or remove. The first 7 slots each hold 30 cards (each card is 0.3mm thick), the 8th slot is for 16 Duchies, and the 9th slot for 12 Provinces. Note that the provinces slot is actually angled so that the cards are spread out slightly so it's easy to tell how many provinces are left during the game. Note, there are normally 60 coppers, 40 silvers, and 30 gold. I have split the coppers into two slots, and put 10 of the silvers into the "trash". I don't think we've ever used even 20 silvers in one game, so this is probably fine. The only other catch is that I actually only fit 29 coppers in each slot, because the edges are pretty worn from all the shuffling, making the stack slightly thicker. Oh well. My next task will be to make modular card holders which will hold 10 cards similar to the Provinces slot (angled bottom), but with a hole for the card price, and which can be easily stacked for transporting. I'd really like to end up with a compact travel set that also doesn't require much setup to play.
