Black Hole Gargantua Interstellar Free low-poly 3D model

Black Hole

Simple model of a black hole similar to the one in the movie Interstellar (Gargantua) based on a tutorial by ShiveringCactus.

It is basically a black sphere and a (rotating) disk with some galaxy texture plus a refracting torus, which simulates the bending of the light behind by the strong gravity (gravity lens). I added an additional disk under the original one with a c4d galaxy shader to get some more twirly line structures around. For animation I just rotated these two disks together, which gives an impressive visual effect. By playing around with different transparency settings of the torus, e.g. inner reflection: on, You get different appearances. You can color filter the galaxy material to get even more different looks. Have fun! The images werde rendered in Cinema4D, the first image was edited in Photoshop to match better with the original.

Model is for CInema 4D, the galaxy texture image is filtered and it is used also in the alpha channel.
