Is All top 3d model list relevant?

Discussion started by radju988

Is this list bugged or I am doing something wrong.

For example this model is on the list https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/furniture/furni...

And my model is not https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/character/cloth...

Maybe I don't understand what makes models to get on the top list. Is it views, likes, comments and time spend on cgtrader store counts, or its something else? Thanks. Regards

Just talking about the model quality, yours deserve to be in the list, no doubt.
But there are surely a lot of other factors, as you mentioned, the main, perhaps, sales.
Now, you´re an interior designer looking for furniture, never will look for your boot ,there is a lot of interior designers out there.
Who will need such a good boot?, there must be some people that need exactly this, but not a lot.
Now think about the furniture model, it covers a wide variety of cases, looks funny and modern, this attracts people and the interior designer can make profit of this all.

Yes, thats all true. But I remember before that i saw models with 0 views on this list. So if there is no views, then there is no sales if I am right. It is not such a big deal is my model on list or something like that. Just wanted to check is this bugged.

I think that the most important factor is artists reputation.
Authors reputation of mentioned model is nearly 40000.
Your repution is over 20000.
So it is propably the most important attribut when comparing models of similar quality.

And on the moment i linked that model, it has 2 views only. Probably cg trader put on this list models from categories that sells best. So on that way categories are important and not models itself( that would be lame ). But i do not know, just guessing.
