Hey guys,
did any of you ever got cheated by your clients who confirmed you to model their requests and they will pay you, and suddenly they haven't because recently I been chosen to model a steam punk ship for a 3D printing company from France, and i sent them the file on that deadline and they have not reply back for three weeks since that deadline. I don't know what to do now, should I write complain to the cgtrader company or something.

i think cgtrader has nothing to do with this , as you sent the file by mail , so the right thing you should have done is to upload the requested file here on cgtrader website, then the buyer need to buy it from you , so the cgtrader get the normal commission and you get paid for the model .

Unfortuantely there are like these people. You should try to get payment first and then send them the work you have done. Or if you have trust issues request half of the money then send half of the job. If there is not any problem then transfer the rest. That is a better way. Politely explain your customers the situation and I believe they will understand.
I agree with Swan3DStudios, though many clients won't pay the entire amount upfront. Most people should agree to a "half to get started, half to finish" agreement. That way, if the client disappears, at least you have half the money.
Also, you should always have a contract that spells out the terms, such as "half up to get started". You might want to include a line that says you own the model if the client disappears. That way, you can sell the model yourself and make back the lost income.
I have had things like this happen. Work delivered and not payed for. Projects cancelled at the last minute.I have even had my credits removed from projects I did at a small Chicago art studio after I changed jobs. But even in the face of dishonesty , there is still the chance every moment to make new things.
I've learned as an artist, when things go wrong, it's best to gather your resources, learn, and move on. Geesh, I've got to stop listening to so much doctor phil.
Those people got 3 of the seven deadly sins :
Greed : because they don t want to spend their money;
Envy : because they want your model by any method;
and sloth because they are too lazy to learn how to create their models.
Don t worry about them, just move on. In this experience you have improve your skills.
