Bitmap2PBR

Discussion started by 3DCargo

Im sure like most of you we are all updating our assets or creating assets for PBR/GLTF over the next 12 months to keep up with industry demand.

I want to share something I have been working on for awhile. The project started when I was converting my assets to PBR and wanted a simple way to convert my current textures with some simple but powerful controls (I know theres some similar tools out there but I wanted something fast, and easily customisable and simple to use). I was using Substance Designer at first but then I ended up extending it to an sbar (you can run this in Substance Player) for an easy UI to output for different workflows such as metallic, spec/gloss, texture packing ORM. I ended up building it without using presets to maximise speed for the end user (which was me at the time). It should be ready to the public within a couple of weeks as I have it in beta testing at the moment. If you have any questions or feedback please feel free to let me know, id love to hear your feedback.

Small update for Bitmap2PBR coming in version2. You can take a photo and press the Make It Tilable button instead of using pre-tiled bitmaps! Also diffuse to albedo magic ;)
