DESCRIPTION

A compact 3D-printable holder designed to securely store side cutters or similar small wire cutters on 2020 aluminum extrusion profiles, commonly found on Ender-3, Ender-3 V2, CR-10 and other 3D printers using 2020 framing.

The two-part design consists of a main holder body and a separate clip that slides into the extrusion slot. The parts are glued together before mounting for a rigid, vibration-resistant connection.

  • Profile compatibility: Standard 2020 aluminum extrusion (6 mm slot)
  • Tool compatibility: Most common side cutters / flush cutters (head width up to ~35–40 mm)

  • Assembly: Glue required (CA / super glue or 2-component epoxy recommended)
Material Recommendations
  • PLA: Sufficient for indoor use and light-duty storage
  • PETG: Preferred for better durability, impact resistance and long-term reliability
Notes & Assembly
  • Print the holder and clip separately.
  • Apply glue to the contact surfaces and press the clip into the holder slot; allow full curing time.
  • Slide the assembled holder onto the 2020 extrusion at the desired position.
  • Support-free design – no supports needed on standard FDM printers.
  • Orientation: print holder flat on the bed with opening facing up.
