DESCRIPTION

This 3D model recreates the famous “Ram in a Thicket” statuette from the Royal Cemetery of Ur in southern Mesopotamia (ca. 2600–2400 BCE). The figure actually represents a rearing markhor he‑goat standing on its hind legs, supported by a central pole and reaching up into a luxuriant tree or bush, richly decorated in the original with gold, lapis lazuli, shell and colored stone inlay. The model captures the dynamic pose, spiral horns, floral rosettes and mosaic base while simplifying microscopic ornament so it remains practical for 3D printing and real‑time rendering.
