DESCRIPTION

1/1800th scale Kagero Class Destroyer model. Certain elements not to scale.

The Japanese Kagero class of destroyers consisted of 19 ships build during the 1930's. They served in the Imperial Japanese Navy with only one surviving to the end of the war. The Yukikaze was given to the Chinese and served in their navy through the '60's. An additional three were claimed to be planned, but they were part of the dummy budget for the Yamato-class battleships. They originally carried six five-inch guns and eight torpedo tubes, but the Yukikaze was refit late in the war, sacrificing two of the five-inch guns in order to increase the antiaircraft armament.

This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print much larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.

This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.

Update 02 Oct 19: Added boats and anchor chains. Adjustments for better printability and detail.

Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
