DESCRIPTION

1/1800th scale Andrea Dorea Class Battleship model. Certain elements not to scale.

The Andrea Doria-class battleships were Italian dreadnoughts built between 1912–1916, consisting of two ships: Andrea Doria and Duilio. Both survived World War I and World War II. As built, they carried thirteen 305 mm main guns, sixteen 152 mm secondary guns, thirteen 76 mm guns, six 76 mm anti-aircraft guns, and three torpedo tubes; during their massive 1937–1940 rebuilds, the center turret was removed and the remaining guns were enlarged to ten 320 mm guns along with modernized secondary and anti-aircraft batteries. Their reconstruction was so extensive that the rebuilt ships looked almost like entirely new battleships, with longer hulls, new machinery, and dramatically altered superstructures. This posting is for the WWII configuration of Caio Duilio.

This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print much larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.

This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.

Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
