DESCRIPTION

1/1800th scale Aircraft Carrier Europa model. Certain elements not to scale.

The German aircraft carrier I (1942) was a planned conversion of the ocean liner SS Europa into a large auxiliary carrier for the Kriegsmarine during World War II. The project was cancelled in November 1942 before any conversion work began. The intended armament included a mixed anti-aircraft suite (around a dozen 10.5 cm guns plus large numbers of 37 mm and 20 mm weapons), with aircraft facilities for roughly 42 planes, likely a combination of Bf 109T fighters and Ju 87 dive bombers. The design emphasized speed (about 26.5 knots) and a single large hangar, but suffered from serious stability and structural issues that contributed to the decision to cancel it.

This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.

Tested with PLA at .08mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
