DESCRIPTION

The** Dornier Do 28 D Skyservant **is a twin-engine STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) utility transport aircraft developed in Germany during the late 1960s. Renowned for its ruggedness and versatility, it served as a dependable workhorse for both military and civil operators. What makes the Skyservant immediately recognizable is its unconventional layout. While it features a high-wing configuration, its two Lycoming piston engines are actually mounted on stub wings extending from the lower fuselage, right next to the fixed main landing gear The Skyservant’s primary operator was the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), which utilized it for utility transport, medical evacuation (Medevac), and maritime surveillance. Beyond its military service, it found a niche in the civil market for bush flying, cargo transport in remote areas, and as a popular platform for skydiving clubs.
